"Papa's" Sangria Recipe
(To make 7 Gallons in an at least 8 gallon container. Double if your
party demands)
5 & ½ Gallons of Cheap Red Jug Wine (Gallo or Carlo &
Rossi is recommended)
One Dozen Oranges
One Dozen Lemons
Half Dozen Limes
(All other fresh fruit you feel like putting in - apples, grapes,
strawberries, pineapples have all been welcome additions at all festivities!)
Toss in Half Gallon of Orange Juice
Stir in a Quart of Pineapple Juice
Sweeten with White Grape Juice and Sugar
How to do it:
Combine the 5&1/2 Gallons of Red Wine, the Orange, Pineapple and
Grape Juice in a 7 Gallon container. Let the blending begin
.mmmmmmnnnnnn.
Take all fruit and muddle it. Mash it into a beautiful, fruity, pulpy
medley - let the flavors talk with one another! Pour the immediately
available juices into the 5gallon container. Put half of the pulpy
goodness together in cheesecloth or 'hops sack' to hang in the container.
The rest of the fruit will float around directly in Papa's Sangria.
How to remove Red Wine Stains
Tannin stains are made by some jerks that get a little crazy with
the boda bag and spray red wine all over your shirt.
Treat stains as soon as possible after staining. The older the stain,
the more difficult it will be to remove. Sponge or soak stain area
in cool water. Then pre-treat with a pre-wash stain product, such
as Spray n' Wash, Shout or Clorox Stain-Out, liquid laundry detergent
or paste of granular detergent and water. Launder with bleach safe
for fabric. Older stains may respond to presoaking in product containing
enzyme, then launder. Use of soap or detergents containing natural
soap will make tannin stain permanent or at least more difficult to
remove.
